An escort is always required as there may be some residual effects from the anaesthetic and surgery until the following day. A contact number (including an after hours contact) is always available and a member of staff will contact the patient the following day. Those patients who do not come within the Randwick Day Surgery Guidelines or who have medical problems, will need a pre-anaesthetic assessment by one of our visiting anaesthetists to ensure optimum care can be provided and to assess suitability for day surgery. |
