Explanation of charges
As an in-patient you will receive 3 accounts:
- from the dentist/oral surgeon
- from the anaesthetist
- from Randwick Day Surgery
The dentist/oral surgeon will provide you with their quote and you can arrange with him/her the method of payment.
The anaesthetists fee will be quoted by Randwick Day Surgery and is payable on admission. You will be able to claim a portion of this from Medicare and, if you have private health insurance, part of the "gap" can be claimed from your fund.
The Randwick Day Surgery charges are based on the use of the operating theatres and the recovery room and includes the cost of any pharmaceuticals or extras required by your surgeon. The exact amount will vary according to the time in theatre and type of procedure.
If you have private health insurance, you will be asked to sign a health fund claim form which the day surgery will lodge on your behalf. If you have an excess on your policy, this will be advised prior to admission and will be payable on the day.
If you have no private health insurance, you will be given a quote for your accommodation and theatre which is payable on admission. |
